I like to be different. I don?t go out of my way to do things that are different, I?m just drawn to the non-traditional. My home improvement projects are no exception. For example, my dining room is an orange color and my living room, which is directly adjacent, has this Blue White theme going on. To me, it works! Even though I know for most people, it may be a little out there.
Moving on to the master bedroom, we have a lot of work to do! When we moved into this house the master bedroom was the only room with carpet. You would think a family with no pets, would have spotless carpet in the master bedroom?WRONG! It had recently been cleaned when we moved in but slowly the stains started coming up again. It was some of the grossest carpet we had ever seen. We decided to leave it while we potty trained Holly and Shep. They had a few accidents but nothing compared to what was already there.
A week ago we decided to pull it up because we couldn?t take it anymore. We stripped it down to the cement.
Then we sat in the middle of the floor trying to get inspiration for what to do next?we sat for a while. We weren?t coming up with much so we headed to the hardware store for other things we needed, plants, PVC Fittings, a new sidewalk light?
I wandered over to the paint because honestly I am addicted to painting stuff. Not?surprisingly, this is where I found the inspiration for my cement bedroom floors! I am going to paint them!
I know it sounds crazy but I?m pretty sure it?s going to be awesome?I?m?pretty sure?
I thought I might have to visit a Commercial Industrial Supply to get cement paint but they had it right there at the regular hardware store. The best part is I can get it tinted any color I want! I hurried home to find some how-to sites for my new project. I came across lots of ideas and I have decided to paint them and then stencil on a design.
I can?t wait to get started and I will keep you updated on my progress!
