Dozens of union employees from Verizon rallied against the communications company Thursday night at Strawberry Square. The protesters said they are still working under a contract that expired last August and that Verizon is trying to outsource its work and cut jobs."We need those jobs, and we need Verizon to secure those jobs for the long run, not the short run," said Chris Polm of the CWA Local 13000. "We make this company a heck of a lot of money, and we believe that it's our right to have those jobs as long as this company is profiting."About 400 people from the Susquehanna Valley belong to the Communication Workers of America Union.
